Description
Matteo Thun Camino Matteo Fireplace Marble H128 W117 D17 cm 150 kg For this fireplace surround, which bears his first name, Matteo Thun applies to marble the formal freedom he inherited from his years at Memphis. The fireplace, a central feature of the traditional home, becomes here a design object in its own right, where geometry and the choice of stone define the room’s décor. Weighing 150 kg and standing nearly one metre thirty tall, the piece makes a striking architectural statement. It exemplifies the dialogue, within postmodern Italian design, between traditional fine materials and a contemporary aesthetic.
