Standardised N.V. bedroom wardrobe
Clarté Building, Geneva, c. 1932
H180 W50 D50 cm
Designed for the Geneva-based industrialist Edmond Wanner, the Clarté block takes its name from the light that floods its flats, thanks to large glazed façades. The built-in furniture, conceived as standardised fittings, contributes to this rationalisation of the living space. This wardrobe, in a deep green reminiscent of the ‘English green’ from *Polychromie architecturale*, rests on a lighter, distinctly separate olive-green base; a small metal knob opens the solid door. A piece of architect-designed furniture, linked to a major building of the Modernist movement.
