A signatory in 1915, alongside Fortunato Depero, of the manifesto *Futurist Reconstruction of the Universe*, Giacomo Balla sought to extend Futurism to all objects of everyday life: furniture, clothing and interior design. This screen, designed between 1916 and 1918, embodies this ambition through a design of dynamic geometric shapes in bright colours. In 1971, Dino Gavina had it produced by Simon International as part of his initiative to reissue avant-garde works, which would lead to the creation of the Centro Duchamp. The design, screen-printed on both sides, allows it to be displayed freely in any space. The piece is featured in both reference works devoted to Gavina.
