Description
Sido (1936–1986) & François (1931–2016) Thevenin Bas-relief Metal on Plexiglas Signed and dated ‘Sido and François Thevenin 1973’. 1973 H35 W50 cm In good original condition. This bas-relief is part of the French art scene of the 1970s, alongside works by Pierre Sabatier, Philippe Hiquily and Pierre Chapo. Sido and François Thevenin, an artist couple, signed their work jointly, as evidenced by the inscription on this bas-relief. This 1973 bas-relief combines cut and assembled metal with a Plexiglas background—a material emblematic of the decade—which lends the composition a distinctive depth and brilliance. The work forms part of the French art scene of the 1970s, alongside artists such as Pierre Sabatier and Philippe Hiquily, who transformed metal into a decorative and sculptural medium. A signed and dated piece.
