For Ligne Roset, France, 2002
H85 W76 D138 cm
Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Étienne and then at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, Éric Jourdan joined Luigi Colani’s studio in 1987. He exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in 1991 and was given carte blanche by the VIA in 1995. From 2002 onwards, he designed for Ligne Roset and Cinna; as a lecturer, he has been director of the Cité du design and the École supérieure d’art et design de Saint-Étienne since 2024. The Tolozan chaise longue, one of his first pieces for Ligne Roset, plays on the contrast between materials, contours and volumes: a curved seat and backrest, an asymmetrical armrest and a footrest. A highly coherent style that blends graphic precision with understated sensuality.
