Description
Patrice Giraudeau Cibak Pair of armchairs Seats reupholstered in a leopard-print fabric by Nobilis. Limited edition, produced by Libel. 1987 H 83.5 W 60 D 55 cm (each armchair). In good overall condition, with signs of wear on the paintwork. This pair of armchairs is part of the French design scene of the 1980s which, alongside Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti, André Dubreuil, Éric Schmitt and Philippe Starck, broke with functionalism to reintroduce fantasy, ornamentation and narrative into furniture design. Produced in a limited edition by Libel in 1987, Patrice Giraudeau’s Cibak armchairs combine a painted frame, showing signs of wear, with seats reupholstered in a leopard-print fabric from Nobilis, an iconic pattern reflecting a bold decorative style. A pair that epitomises the free-spirited and theatrical ethos of French design from that decade.
