Description
Riccardo Gori (born 1960) Table lamp Porcelain with crystallised enamel decoration Artist’s monogram on the reverse Date of creation: 2000 Without lampshade: H27 D18 cm Crystallised enamel is one of the most demanding techniques in ceramics: during a precisely controlled cooling process, crystals form within the enamel and blossom into star- or flower-like patterns, which are impossible to reproduce identically. Riccardo Gori applies this technique to porcelain, a medium whose whiteness makes the crystals stand out. This lamp base offers a domestic application of the technique: as the light illuminates the surface, it brings out the reflections and depth of the crystals. A piece signed with the artist’s monogram.
