The name ‘Milano’ pays homage to the city where Aldo Rossi was born, studied at the Politecnico and developed the bulk of his theoretical work, from *The Architecture of the City* (1966) to his major projects. Produced by Molteni & C., with whom the architect had a long-standing collaboration from the late 1980s onwards, it combines solid walnut with a slender design featuring a high backrest. The model occupies four pages in the catalogue raisonné of his work as a designer, a testament to its significance. This example comes from Rossi’s studio and his personal collection.
