Spangaro, ‘Aldo Rossi Design 1960–1997’, exhibition catalogue, Silvana Editorial, 2022, pp. 190–191 Designed in 1993 with Giovanni da Pozzo and produced by Arte SRL in Arosio, Brianza, the Metrica armchair dates from a period of Aldo Rossi’s peak international recognition, three years after he was awarded the Pritzker Prize. Its name, which refers to measurement and rhythm, reflects the architect’s attention to proportions and the repetition of elements – founding principles of his architecture. The combination of patinated metal and leather lends the chair an elegant simplicity. Originating from Rossi’s studio and personal collection, it is featured in the catalogue raisonné.
