Spangaro, ‘Aldo Rossi Design 1960–1997’, exhibition catalogue, Silvana Editorial, 2022, pp. 166–167 In the late 1980s, the Florentine porcelain manufacturer Richard-Ginori, founded in the 18th century, invited nine architects and designers to revitalise its range; Aldo Rossi contributed a collection of jugs, vases and containers. As with his famous coffee pots for Alessi, he treated tableware as small-scale architectural forms, with basic shapes: cylinders, cones and domes. This set of prototypes, drawn from the architect’s studio and personal collection, documents a research phase prior to production. It was published in 1990 and is reproduced in the catalogue raisonné.
