Up & Up Edition
H21 W24 D9 cm
With a seemingly tautological title, ‘Lampshade’, Marco Marino takes the most mundane element of a lamp and makes it the subject of the work. Produced by Up & Up, a company known for its collaborations with architects and designers working with stone, the piece plays on the contrast between its familiar form and its execution. Its small size and shallow depth make it an object to be placed on a shelf or a console table, somewhere between a light fitting and a sculpture. A postmodern piece, where humour and allusion take precedence over function.
