Josep Vila Capdevila Plus Table Side table Pink onyx Year of creation: 2020 H47 D33 cm Founder and lead designer of the Barcelona-based studio Aparentment, Josep Vila Capdevila launched his first collection of objects, Marblelous, in 2012, which garnered international acclaim. This version of his Plus side table is crafted from pink onyx, a translucent stone that allows light to pass through its legs like a natural stained-glass window. The circular top rests on four legs made from the same material, forming two pointed arches – a deliberate reference to Gothic architecture and the light within cathedrals. A piece in which the transparency of the stone becomes the true focus of the design. Josep Vila Capdevila (1985) Founder and lead designer at Aparentment, Josep Vila is a multidisciplinary designer who has been involved in fashion, advertising, photojournalism and even music. In 2012, he launched his first collection of objects, Marblelous, which garnered national and international acclaim. Since then, he has pursued a design approach focused on experimentation and innovation, working with fine, robust and durable materials.
