Description
Anonymous Sculptural vase Glazed terracotta Bears a monogram by André Borderie, possibly apocryphal Circa 1960 H40 W24 cm Good original condition, with very slight chips visible in the photographs. With its sculptural form and glazing, this vase is typical of French ceramics of the 1960s, a period when Georges Jouve, Pol Chambost and Jacques Blin were pioneering new forms and glazes. It bears a monogram by André Borderie, a painter and ceramist associated with this circle, the authenticity of which cannot be guaranteed; the vase is therefore presented as anonymous. Regardless of this attribution, it reflects the taste of the era for ceramics in which the vase becomes a sculptural form.
