Description
Sonja de Monchy Chaudron Glazed ceramics Date of creation: 2024 H28 D41 cm A contemporary ceramic artist, Sonja de Monchy Chaudron creates work centred on raw materials, natural textures and organic forms. This piece from 2024, a glazed ceramic with irregular walls and a deliberately textured surface, expresses her interest in forms inspired by the mineral and plant worlds.
The contrast between the smooth interior and the sculpted, almost bark-like exterior creates a strong tactile presence and a resolutely contemporary aesthetic. The artist’s recent works are increasingly appealing to collectors for their authenticity, their sculptural quality and their role in the revival of European artisanal ceramics. An expressive piece, ideal for a contemporary collection.
