Born in 1937 in Falkenstein (Lower Austria), he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna under Herbert Boeckl. From the 1960s onwards, he took part in exhibitions at the Vienna Künstlerhaus and international biennials, taught as a guest lecturer at art academies, and consistently devoted himself to figurative painting featuring mythological and biblical motifs. Korab created expressive nudes, religious scenes and portraits characterised by thick impasto, dramatic contrasts and symbolist depth, influenced by Boeckl and the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism; he also produced woodcuts and etchings marked by linear precision and visionary intensity.
