Description
Lucio Fontana - Concetto Spaziale (Spatial Concept), 1959
Pochoir on paper created for the art review "XXe siecle" N12. Limited edition of 1500 ex. Hand-created in pochoir technique by atelier Daniel Jacomet, Paris, 1959. Publisher: San Lazzaro, Paris, 1959. Good condition, 31 x 24.5 cm.
A prime example of FontanaÕs ÒSpatial Concept,Ó or ÒslashÓ series, this work features a smooth, monochromatic surface in which the illusion of holes (buchi) or slashes (tagli) are pronounced. Fontana believed that matter should be transformed into energy in order to invade space in a dynamic form.
