Le livre des villes. sl, La Teinturerie, galerie, Éditions UNESCO, sd. 2 in-4 paperback volumes (in French and Arabic), poems translated from Arabic by Anne Wade Minkowski and Jacques Berque illustrated with drawings by Dallou and a very large folio volume containing a suite of original engravings (57 x 38 cm) printed on Arches vellum 250 g, signed by Dalloul, all in publisher's cloth slipcase. First edition at 600 copies; one of only 10 hors commerce. A fine editorial collaboration between the great poet Adonis and the engraver Dalloul. The text, printed in French and Arabic, explores the theme of the city as symbolic space, memory and poetic projection. The original engravings, of great formal sobriety, accompany and extend this reflection in a refined plastic language. This publication, produced under the auspices of UNESCO, reflects a desire for intercultural dialogue and a desire to showcase contemporary art from the Arab world.
