[BAYA] Collection " Album des peintres algériens ", ENAG, Editions Bouchène, Alger, 1988 Portfolio, ed. in French, hardback full cloth, title stamped and gilt on first cover, unpaginated. Illustrations in the text + 12 coloured plates pasted in a hors-texte folder. Texts by André Breton, Assia Djebar, Mouny Berrah, Jean de Maisonseul, Baya. Published in conjunction with the exhibition "Baya, Issiakhem, Khadda: Algérie, expressions multiples": 24 September 1987-4 January 1988, Musée national des arts africains et océaniens. (Condition: dampness on the first cover, booklet clean, plates laminated but detached without affecting the plates). Abderrahmane Bouchène (1941), Algerian bookseller and publisher, founder of the publishing house (1986) that bears his name. A friend of painters, like Koraichi, he developed the collection "Albums de peintres algériens" (Albums of Algerian painters), which he had to discontinue when he went into exile in Tunisia, and which included three titles: "Baya, Issiakhem et Khadda" (Baya, Issiakhem and Khadda).
