Jupiter Nicéphorus, naked and standing facing left, with his cloak flowing over his shoulders, holding a victoriola in his outstretched right hand and a long sceptre in his left hand. Ref: Cal. 4524, RIC 252, C. 283 Grading: NGC MS 5/5, 2/5 scuffs Condition: Minimal marks, otherwise a magnificent FDC. The inscription IOVI CONSERVATORI ORBIS means To Jupiter, protector of the world and refers to the role of the supreme god of the Roman pantheon as the guarantor of the Empire’s stability.
