Folio, [3] folios, 8 pp., [1] f., with 8 very fine plates drawn by Raymond Charmaison and stencil-coloured by Jean Saudé, depicting various views of garden layouts, loose sheets, in a cardboard folder with colour-printed flaps, upper cover illustrated in black, colour-illustrated front cover, closing cord missing (publisher’s binding). (Pierre Corrard Collection). Limited edition of 300 copies on Japanese paper, hand-numbered (297/300). A superb album, with few plates but spectacular and finely coloured ones, interpreting the dream of an imaginary garden. Raymond-Louis Charmaison (1876–1955) was a painter best known for his oil paintings depicting urban landscapes (Paris, Versailles) and, frequently, parks or rural scenes.
