Description
GALIMARD (P.-J.). *Architecture de jardins*, dedicated to Monsieur Joly de Fleury, Councillor of State, by his most humble and most obedient servant, Galimard the Younger. Paris, Mondhare, undated (1765). Folio, title page engraved on copper by Binet after Marillier, 68 plates mounted on tabs and numbered 1–68 (the last two are reversed), with paper repairs to the edges of the first few plates, imitation fawn sheepskin, ornamented ribbed spine, title page, triple gilt line framing with corner fleurons on the covers, interior lace (late 19th-century binding). Ribs rubbed, scuffs on the covers. First edition of this rare series comprising plans of flowerbeds, groves, orangeries, mazes, trellises, etc. It appears to be the only title attributable to this undocumented architect.
