Balzac), 1826. 2 vols. in-32 (10.4 x 6.7 cm), green Empire-style long-grain morocco, decorated ribbed spine, gilt title and volume number, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, gilt edges and gilt fillets on the head and foot, gilt interior fillets, gilt edges (contemporary binding in a modern edged slipcase). “A lovely little edition, very well printed in microscopic type, containing 64 tales, in the order of the 1814 Didot edition.” (Rochambeau, p. 540, no. 132). Minor foxing in places, otherwise a very fine copy in period morocco leather of this rare little edition, printed on Honoré de Balzac’s presses. KF leather bookplate.
