A series of 91 early illustrations for the ‘Petits conteurs’ edition. 91 folios (15.5 x 11.5 cm), portfolio with flaps, titled on the spine ‘Contes de La Fontaine – Monnet, Duplessis, Bertaux, etc.’ and a brown percaline slipcase (with faint traces of gilding). A rare series, believed to be the 1861 edition published by Leclerc Fils. Two bookplates: Jean Furstenberg and KF. Scattered foxing (Hédé-Haüy, 64).
