AULERCI ÉBUROVICES Évreux region 1st century BC Upright head on the left, cheek tattooed, lips prominent, hair composed of mistletoe and beaded lines with two S-shaped curls and swastika centred with dots. The tattoo consists of two parallel beaded lines separated by a wolf's tooth line. R/. Horse driven on the right by an charioteer crouching on the croup. The chariot wheel isolated. Underneath, a wolf, mouth wide, ready to bite. In front, a beaded and pelleted cross. ♦ DT 2394 ; LT 7017 Golden hemistatere "with tattooed cheek and wolf". (3,38 g) Interesting type. Blank broken when struck. Very fine reverse. Very nice/Superb.
