(11,67 g / 995°/°°) Superb. The tola or tolah or tole. The word tola comes from the Sanskrit 'tol' meaning 'to weigh'. It is the traditional unit of mass of ancient India and South Asia standardised as 180 troy grains (11.6638038 g) or 3/8 of a troy ounce. It was the basic unit in the English weight system introduced in 1833. Shewpujan Roy Indra San Roy was a goldsmith and jeweller based in Calcutta, India, active in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
