Calabria, Taranto. Didrachm in the name of the magistrates Arethon, Sa- and Cas- ND (302–281 BC), Taranto.
Obverse. A naked young man, holding a wreath, on a horse facing right; above, ΣΑ and below the horse, ΑΡΕ/ΘΩΝ.
Reverse. TAPAΣ. Taras seated on the left on a dolphin, holding a tripod in his right hand; below, CAΣ.

NGC Ch AU 5/5 2/5 Fine style brushed (2183766-014).
Vigorously and clearly struck, with details clearly visible. The patina is iridescent with orange and bluish highlights. Slight corrosion and signs of rubbing on the reverse. Superb in mint condition.
