Calabria, Tarentum. Stater or didrachm, Campanian-Tarentine ND series (281–228 BC).
Obverse: Female head facing left, wearing a taenia, with earrings and a pearl necklace.
Reverse: TA. A young horseman on a horse facing right, crowning him; below (varying).

NGC XF 5/5 4/5 brushed (8769658-037).
With a dolphin on the right beneath the horse. This coin is considered part of the Taranto series but was struck at an unidentified mint in the south. Wide flan, with the motifs in full. Light patina with golden highlights. Superb.
