Thrace (islands of), Thasos. Tetradrachm ND (168–148 BC), Thasos.
Obverse: Head of Dionysus facing right, wearing a laurel wreath of ivy.
Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ/ ΘΑΣΙΟΝ. Heracles, naked, standing facing left, with the spoils on his left arm and holding the club in his right hand; a control letter in front of his knee.

With ΔΙ as the control letters. On a wide, flat blank, with a grey patina with golden highlights. According to Thompson, ANSMN XII, 1966, these issues date back to 180 BC. Superb.
