Convention (1792–1795). 2 sols on the scales, overminted on a Monneron blank of 2 sois featuring Liberty, 1793 – Year II, B, Rouen.
Obverse: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇOISE / L’AN (date). Inscription: LES HOMMES SONT EGAUX DEVANT LA LOI and the intaglio signature ‘Dupré’, beneath a radiant eye, between a bunch of grapes and ears of wheat.
Reverse: LIBERTE EGALITE. The pan of a set of scales surmounted by a cap of liberty, on which is a crown with, in the centre: 2 S.; below: (mint) and (varying) (date) (varying).

Overprint, with engraved edge: BON POUR BORD. MARSEIL. LYON. ROUEN. NANT. AND STRASB. on a Monneron 2-sol Liberty coin blank (Maz.153). Small marks on the edges. With even wear. Beautiful, uniform brown patina. Very rare. TTB.
