Directoire (1795–1799). Trial strike of the 1-centime Dupré coin by Philippe Gengembre, Special Strike (SP) Year 5 (1796), Paris.
Obverse: LIBERTÉ – L’AN CINQ. Bust of the Republic facing left, wearing a cap of liberty; a star below.
Reverse. In six lines above a floral motif: COUPÉ / ET FRAPPÉ / EN / MÊME TEMS / PAR / PH. GENGEMBRE.

PCGS SP Genuine Scratch-AU Detail (54844003).
Special Strike (SP) on a silver blank. Well centred, with the axis at 4 o’clock. Minimal marks on the fields and slight signs of scratching on the obverse. Slightly uneven old grey patina. TTB.
