Shuttle-shaped box in enamel and ivory set in 585-thousandths gold; foreign workmanship, 19th century; the hinged lid is adorned with a medallion of braided hair, framed by two panels of translucent blue enamel, the interior lined in blue velvet with a gold-set medallion monogrammed with hair, (small crack in the ivory (Elephantidae spp*)), (minor scratches and wear).
Width: 94 mm.
Gross weight: 42.1 g.
*Pre-Convention specimen of ivory from Elephantidae spp (I/A), dating from before 1 July 1947 and therefore compliant with Regulation (EC) No 338/97 of 9 December 1996, Article2-W SCE and SPMC, and predating 1 July 1975 and therefore compliant with the French decrees of 4 May 2017 and January 2022.
To take the animals out of the European Union, a CITES re-export certificate will be required.
