Attributed to Louis Périn-Salbreux (1753–1817), a pair of oval-shaped miniatures depicting a couple, early 19th century, mounted in a portable morocco leather frame, signed ‘Périn’ in the lower right-hand corner, h. 6 cm Provenance: Schlote family, Göttingen, Lower Saxony; the collection of Dr Karl Schlote, Eschwege, North Hesse, assembled mainly between 1950 and 1990, then passed down through the family
