Note: - ‘Les Phénomènes’ is a series of fifteen lithographic prints produced by Jean Dubuffet between 1958 and 1959. In this work, the artist explores textures and materials drawn from the natural world, such as sand, stone and bark, transposing them into abstract prints. Rejecting any form of narrative or traditional figuration, Dubuffet seeks here to capture the richness of reality in its rawest, most elemental forms, drawing on an aesthetic of the imperceptible. This series is fully in keeping with his quest for a radical art, free from academic conventions. Please request condition reports prior to the sale: these are not included in the lot descriptions.
