Johan ROHDE (1856–1935) & Georg JENSEN (silversmith) Silver jug with a curved conical body, entirely hammered and grooved towards the base, with a detached side handle in carved ivory, decorated with small spheres and scrolls; model 45B from the artist’s catalogue. Signed on the reverse, silversmith’s mark, located in Denmark, marked ‘Sterling’, numbered 45B and marked ‘Simone Simon’. Swan hallmark Height: 29 cm Weight: 1005.7 g Provenance: Beaussant-Lefevre auction, Paris, 8 June 2005, lot 79. History: similar pieces held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, milk jug (inv. 1991.284.4), coffee pot (inv. 1991.284.1ab), teapot (inv. 1991.284.2ab). Designs created between 1915 and 1927, according to the MET.
