MODERN FURNITURE A drop-front secretary desk in palm veneer and Macassar ebony veneer, with a quadrangular body featuring a drop-front at the top, decorated with an inlay of eggshellon a yellow background and wood fillets, with a blackened diamond-shaped body over an interior comprising two drawers and vertical and horizontal compartments, surmounting four front drawers with two quadrangular Bakelite handles and tortoiseshell-style slats. The front legs are of palm veneer with a sheathed quadrangular body, finished with a cream-coloured Bakelite glide, whilst the rear legs are tapered quadrangular.
