CHINA – 20th century
A large hexagonal vase in blue-and-white porcelain, decorated with stylised lotus flowers amidst foliage. The shoulder is adorned with a frieze of latticework and banana leaves; the two handles are shaped like peach branches, symbolising longevity. On the reverse, the apocryphal Daoguang mark in zhuanshu script, applied by stencil.
