Description
VESOUL 1784
An exceptional silver dusting spoon, in perfect condition, ‘filet’ style, the spatula enhanced by a raised band
in the filet style on both the front and back, and engraved at the time of its creation with a monogram of intertwined letters in the English style within a laurel-wreathed shield surmounted by a floral crown (probably to celebrate a marriage).
The re-punched design features, at its centre, a ten-petalled flower, followed by a row of braids framed by two scalloped rows echoing the border of the spoon bowl. Between the two, a design imitating openwork wickerwork, both curved and vertical, completes the ensemble.
