Long cashmere shawl, c. 1865, decorated in the style of A. Berrus with a small black cruciform medallion surrounded by small fleurons, towards which the ends of two pointed compartments converge; these compartments are filled with elongated, interlaced palm motifs framing a pendant fleuron; on either side, pairs of flowering palm fronds. Fine cashmere weave with a cut-warp technique, woven signature on the medallion, 348 x 159 cm.
