Description
Crimson brocatelle commissioned for the Élysée Palace, designed by Raoul Dufy, manufactured by Tassinari & Chatel, 1927,
red silk and linen, featuring an RF monogram surmounted by Phrygian caps at the centre of a wreath of roses, ears of wheat, drapery and standard-bearers’ spears, 183 x 72 cm.
Pattern no.: 91146 or 9852.
The Mobilier National holds several fragments of this brocatelle in its collections; these are probably remnants from the decoration project at the Élysée Palace, most of these fragments being small in size and lacking a complete context (GMMP 25307-003-001 et seq.)
