Description
Elegant men’s suit, c. 1785, a tailcoat with a straight collar in lampas, decorated with a cream-coloured ‘partridge’ pattern on a chocolate-coloured background. Featuring two flap pockets, complete with matching covered buttons (some seams have come undone; part of the lining is missing). Double-breasted waistcoat with flaps in a cream-coloured silk blend and a geometric-patterned chequered fabric (one button missing, a few stains on the lining). Blue twill breeches with a bridge, (signs of wear, some buttons replaced).
