Jean Michel Folon (1934–2005) – Larousse. Circa 1975. Printed by GLF. 170 x 119 cm. Original poster, offset print. Condition A – very slight tears at the edges.
In this bookshop poster, he evokes the idea of the dissemination of knowledge, echoing the Grasset poster ‘Je sème à tout vent’ (I sow to the four winds). Folon takes up the metaphor of seeds scattering to the wind, but adds a psychedelic and surrealist touch through men transformed into birds coming to feed from the hand of knowledge.
It was whilst looking through the pages of the *Petit Larousse Illustré* that Christian Lacroix decided to become a fashion designer.
