Artist – Romain de Tirtoff, known as Erté (1892–1990) – Erté’s Alphabet. 1975. 74.5 × 49.5 cm / 29.3 × 19.5 in. Printed by Saint Martin, Asnières. Original poster, zincography, unmounted. Grade A. Erté created a series of elegant women in tailored suits posed to represent the letters of the Latin alphabet, in the style of Honoré Daumier. The elegant Art Deco figure against a black background is draped in a cape that forms all the letters of the alphabet.
