Description
Michal Płoński (1778-1812) Old woman in a white bonnet; young reader; old man; beggar with a crutch; Dutch peasant with clogs; beggar with a stick, c. 1802 Six (6) etchings (2 plates). 29 x 42 cm (each plate). Signed or monogrammed in each plate (except 1), some dated. Attached are 3 modern prints on ivory laid paper: an old woman reading a book, known as "Rembrandt's mother"; a bust of an old man with a beard and an old man in profile. These are plates 1 to 6, 8 and 9 from the collection of 14 engravings by Michal Plonski, published in Amsterdam in 1802, then in Paris around 1806.
