Verner Panton (1926–1998) & Innovation Randers A/S, Denmark (Published by) ‘Phantom’ armchair, made from a single piece of moulded black polypropylene, with a continuous ‘S’-shaped form that allows it to be used as a chair, armchair, bench or side table depending on which side is placed on the floor. Marked in the mould ‘Verner Panton by INNOVATION’. Circa 1998 H 92.5 cm – W 35 cm – D 106 cm - Bibliography: ‘Verner Panton. The Collected Works’, Weil am Rhein, Vitra Design Museum, 2000, model reproduced on p. 280. - History: The model, created in 1997, is one of the last designs by Verner Panton, who died the following year.
