A rare oval lidded porcelain tureen in blue and white, bearing a coat of arms. China, East India Company, 18th century. Kangxi period, circa 1720–1730. The body is decorated with a large coat-of-arms in the centre, surrounded by flowering branches; the handles are shaped like rabbit heads; the neck is emphasised by a frieze of scrollwork within a band. The lid is decorated with flowering branches, framed by a band featuring landscape scenes within reserved areas on a lattice-patterned background. The handle is shaped like a pomegranate. Length: 35 cm, Width: 25 cm, Height: 19 cm Height: 18 cm The coat of arms of the LETHIEULLIER family. A rare example of one of the earliest porcelain tableware sets produced by the Compagnie des Indes. Coat of arms reproduced in *Chinese Armorial Porcelain* by David Howard, p. 113.
