A rare set comprising a lidded soup tureen and its display stand, in Famille Rose porcelain. China, East India Company, 18th century. With scalloped rims, featuring a polychrome floral decoration within interlaced blue medallions beneath the glaze. The rim is accented by a band of gold decoration on an ochre background. The soup tureen’s handles are shaped like ochre flowers. The lid’s handle is shaped like a closed, openwork crown in ochre. Diameter of stand: 34.8 cm. Soup tureen diameter: 22 cm.
