Description
A set of six armchairs in moulded and carved wood with medallion-shaped backs; they rest on tapered, fluted legs joined to the armrests’ brackets by a block adorned with small floral motifs, whilst the centre of the lower section and the top of the backrest are carved with long, knotted ribbons. Upholstered in beige fabric embellished with embroidered polychrome floral bouquets. Two armchairs are larger than the other four. Signs of wear to the upholstery; traces of wood-boring insects. Dated to the late 18th – early 19th century, in the Louis XVI style. Heights: 93 cm and 98 cm. Width: 58 cm and 65.5 cm. Seat depth: 47 cm and 53 cm.
