In the foreground, off-centre to the right and arranged in a semicircle, is a canopy of foliage.
Hallmark: an animal’s head surmounted by the number 3.
Silversmith: Léger-Fortuné-Alexandre Ricart, hallmarked in 1808.
Diameter of the box: 7 cm. Height: 2 cm. Diameter of the micro-mosaic: 5.3 cm.
Gross weight: 129.43 g.
This box is of exceptional quality, with exquisite guilloché work and chasing, and the micro-mosaic executed with the utmost skill.
