JAPAN – Edo period (1603–1868) KABUTO comprising 12 panels of black gloss-lacquered wrought iron. THEHEN NO ANA (apex opening) in gilded copper with four tiers. SHIKORO (neck guard) with five tiers, made of glossy black lacquered wrought iron and blue silk braid. FUKIGAESHI (small flaps) made of glossy black lacquered wrought iron, edged with gilded copper. MABI SA SHI (visor) in glossy black lacquered wrought iron, with a red lacquered interior. MAEDATE in gilded wood depicting a disc. Dimensions: 25 x 32 x 35 cm.
