Camille Flers, along with Paul Huet, was one of the first to set up his easel in the Barbizon Forest. Pastel and watercolour were particularly well-suited to expressing his bucolic, Virgilian vision: indeed, he published a treatise on these techniques.
Camille Flers was an excellent pastel artist. He was part of the group of artists who founded the School of 1830. He was able to convey his emotions in the face of nature with great sincerity.
Museums: Autun, Béziers, Le Havre, Le Puy, Lille, Orléans, Paris.
